iPhone: The three apps that can crush your phone bill.

Now these are pretty well known but I wanted to put this out there for anyone who doesn't have these yet.

I use the apps constantly as my girlfriend lives in london and I in belgium... first month in our bills were pretty painful.

Luckily we both have iPhones which makes it a lot easier to maintain contact 24/7, only requirement is an internet connection.

First up, the obvious one, Skype!
This should be on every smartphone, calls other skypers for free and calling national/international numbers is incredibly cheap. Also, the videocalling works better than FaceTime if you have a poor connection (and works over 3G).

Next, Whatsapp, also pretty obvious.
Can send texts, images, sound, videos... simple design, great performance. Just make sure you're both connected to the internet. Also has the ability to mail your entire conversation history with all attachments.

And the last one, Viber, free calling for iPhone to iPhone if you have internet connection. The great thing about this one is, you don't have to register!

This app combo can save you lot of money.
