Photoshop Tip: Vignette times 3

This is a very simple tip for beginners.

Vignettes can give your pics something extra as you bring focus to a specific part... I use 3 methods for this, one more than the others.

1. using a black solid.
First open your pic and create a new layer.

Then fill that layer with all black (use the bucket).
Put a layer mask on the black layer and fill it with a black/white radial gradient.

Adjust the opacity as needed.

2. using a duplicate with adjusted brightness/contrast.
First open your pic and duplicate it.
Then adjust the brightness/contrast (go to image > adjustments > brightness/contrast).
>> brightness low, contrast high...
Put a layer mask on the duplicate and fill it with a black/white radial gradient.
Adjust the opacity as needed.

3. using a duplicate with overlay blending mode.
First open your pic and duplicate it.
Desaturate the duplicate (ctrl+shift+u)
Set the blending mode of the duplicate to overlay.
Put a layer mask on the duplicate and fill it with a black/white radial gradient.
Adjust the opacity as needed.
